American Society for Microbiology renews full-service production of journal content with Cenveo Publisher Services
Columbia, MD—January 16, 2019—The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) has awarded a new multi-year contract to Cenveo Publisher Services for full-service content production, article billing, and collections for its leading microbiology journals. Extending a decades-long relationship in providing content services and workflow solutions to support ASM’s journal program, Cenveo will fully migrate ASM’s journal production to the Smart Suite cloud-based publishing tool.
ASM journals are the most prominent publications in their field, delivering up-to-date and authoritative coverage of both basic and clinical microbiology. ASM has long embraced the technological innovations that Cenveo has developed to help streamline the production of high-quality content.
With the introduction of Smart Suite 2.0, ASM will have access to a cloud-based ecosystem of publishing tools combining user interface redesign and tighter integration with high-speed production engines to solve the challenges related to multi-channel publishing.
Smart Suite includes Smart Edit, a copyediting tool incorporating natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI); Smart Compose, a fully automated production engine for generating page proofs; and Smart Proof, a browser-based correction and XML conversion tool.
